MP980

The MP980 doesn't appear to have been marketed in the USA. Parts are nonexistent and support is zero from anyone that I've contacted.

Features:

This is the first and only 10.4" wide-screen notebook made in Taiwan! Our MP980 uses a very nice and special TFT screen, it's resolution is 1024x600, which makes it even larger than SVGA resolution. It's great for viewing large Excel spreadsheets and for watching Panorama movies and pictures. It's using an Intel Pentium CPU with MMX, either 266 or 300 MHz speed. The HDD can easily be removed and supports large 6-8MB HDD, you can easily copy 10 CD's onto the HDD for your convenience.

Keyboard:

Full size 88-keys Windows 95TM keyboard, available in many languages. In the center of the keyboard is a Trackpoint.

PCMCIA & Audio:

There is one PCMCIA type II slot built-in intended for LAN, SCSI, or others. The faxmodem is optionally built-in. Beside the PCMCIA slot there are both external speaker and microphone jacks.

Memory:

MP980 supports one single memory slot for expansion up to 64MB SDRAM.

HDD:

A unique thing on the MP980 is the removable HDD. Especially on mini-notebooks a removable and large capacity HDD is very important. It might be inconvenient to attach an external CD-ROM or FDD, but with a large HDD you can store several GB of data, even whole Audio-CDs and Movies can be stored!
