vpr Matrix 110 Series
The vpr Matrix 110 Series
The 110 series of laptops (110-185, 110-200 & 110-220) are all 16x9 format wide-screen laptops. Several references have reported that these machines were made by Quanta for vpr Matrix. I also believe that the BenQ Joybook 8000 is also the same basic laptop.
The outer case is a cast metal and appears to hold up well to normal useage, unlike the plastic case on other vpr Matrix laptop series, the 120 series made by Samsung.
I haven't had a working 110 series machine in the shop yet, just parts machines that aren't worth repairing. So I don't have very much additional operational information at this time.
I did note that the 110's LCD bezel is the weakest (very thin metal) piece that I've ever tried to remove from a LCD lid assembly. You must work with a knife slid under the bezel to break it free from sticky glue that holds it in place or you will bend it. Once bend it w3ill never look right after it is reattached.
In general, there's a lot of parts in the lid assembly and so I believe that working on this machine will require advanced skills.
Parts will be hard to find since this appears to be a semi-custom design.
